Database Applications and Interactive Maps for "Frontiers of the Roman Empire" – The International Project Partner: The FRE project – project leader: Dr. David Breeze, Scottish Heritage, Edinburgh.
1. Multilingual Interactive Map: Frontiers of the Roman Empire in the middle of the 2nd century AD (see image below)
The map provides information concerning Roman provinces, major towns and legion fortresses and gives access to overviews on segments of the Roman frontiers in all project languages. (English, German, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, Slovakian, Slovenian, Spanish)
2. Multilingual Monuments Thesaurus (see image below)
The thesaurus is based on the "English Heritage Online Thesaurus" that was replenished and adapted for the current project. CHC built a powerful thesaurus management tool so that the thesaurus can be edited and viewed online in all project languages.
